Industrial cooling towers, In large industrial plants, cooling water is needed during the operation of machines or the cooling of outputs. This amount of water reaches 1000-3000 or even 8000 m3/hour in large industrial facilities. For the cooling of these amounts of water, industrial cooling towers are used with a seating area up to 1000 m2.
Unlike package towers, their body structure and height are quite large. These industrial cooling towers, which have chimney diameters of 6-8 or even 10 meters, are built in large capacities and have a long service life. In the years when industrial cooling towers were first manufactured, the use of impregnated board in serious quantities in the main construction was widespread because the GRP pultrusion profile technology was not at a sufficient level, while in recent years the use of grp profiles has increased to over 90%. In this type of towers, where the suction direction and size vary according to the design, delta t is generally not selected very high, instead the flow rate is selected as large as m3 / hour and the system is fed with 1 degree of precision. Systems of this size are usually designed to work at full capacity. However, since the efficiency of cooling towers varies according to the wet thermometer, winter-summer night-day dry thermometer and moisture content changes are factors affecting tower performance.
With a little automation, it is possible to keep the outlet water temperature constant by decreasing or increasing the fan speed according to these wet bulb changes. A system that continuously measures the output temperature according to the set temperature will ensure that the output water temperature remains constant by reducing or increasing the fan speed.
This system has benefits in 2 aspects. Since the fan speed will not work at its maximum continuously, the fan and fan-connected systems will be less strained than normal, and their life span will therefore be extended. The second benefit is that systems that can slow down to 40% when not needed will allow 60% electricity and water savings to be made.
Industrial cooling towers are large construction structures, so most often there are large reinforced concrete infrastructures. Sometimes it is seen that even the side walls and fillers, drop holders, etc. codes are made of reinforced concrete. As such, it is very clear that they are designed to work for a minimum of 25-30 years. Industrial cooling towers generally use cranes positioned on the mobile or tower for maintenance and failure purposes.
